I thought some of you might be interested in my own
classic old car. It's a fully restored 1956 Chevy Bel Air (not stock). I bought this car
(long before OBD was around) when I was in high school and I have been working on it ever since
(30
years). Many people ask - sorry, this car is not for sale.
I take it out for a ride now and again in the summer, but most of the
year it stays in its own heated, humidity controlled garage environment.
It doesn't support our OBD automotive diagnostics
system because there was no such thing circa 1956.
I have also been known to take it to the racetrack now and again, just
to clear the carbon deposits out of the cylinders and ensure that it
still puts out 400 hp across a broad power curve.
Some of the key features:
 |
400hp. small block |
 |
automatic transmission |
 |
narrowed 12 bolt differential |
 |
$8k multi-coat hand rubbed lacquer
paint job |
 |
No OBD (On
Board Diagnostics) dataport
